HOSPICE GEORGINA
Hospice Georgina has had a busy spring. Both clients and volunteers are growing in numbers as we speak. Our Annual Pansy Sale was a great success and has become a tradition in our community to fill gardens with locally grown Hospice pansies.
COMMUNITY CARE ACCESS CENTRE
Congratulations go out to Laurie Fisher, Ann Marie Burlton, Susan Barber, Teija Cumming. All successfully obtained their Oncology Certification: (CON(C). Laurie, Ann Marie, Susan and Teija are Case Managers at the Community Care Access Centre of York Region.
CCAC and PCSYR have worked collaboratively to develop Supportive Care Standards for residents of York Region. These Standards used components of the CPCA draft standards as a framework. The three Standards focus on pain and symptom management, emotional, social, spiritual support and loss, grief and bereavement support.
We will be evaluating how we are doing by surveying family and caregivers in the fall of this year.
